Atty. Kim M. Aranas

Atty. Kim is a Director in the Tax Advisory & Compliance Practice Area of P&A Grant Thornton. As a Director in the Firm’s tax practice, he heads the People Development, Training, and Hiring of the division. Before joining P&A, he was an associate at SyCip, Salazar, Hernandez & Gatmaitan Law Offices where he handled corporate, tax, immigration, and litigation matters.

He is a certified mentor of DTI’s Kapatid Mentor Me Program, a resource speaker at various seminars/webinars with PICPA, ACPAPP, ACPACI, CCCI, CIB.O, andP&A. Recently, he joined the roster of lecturers and coaches for the Asean Mentorship for Entrepreneurs Network (AMEN) of DTI and PCE. He also contributes articles to the BusinessWorld and Mindanao Times.

Atty. Kim is a faculty member of the University of San Carlos-College of Law where he handles taxation and commercial laws subjects. Prior thereto, he was a faculty member of USC’s Accountancy Department, a Review Director in its Integrated Review Course (IRC), and co-authored two cost accounting textbooks.

Being a director and officer of the PICPA-Cebu Chapter, he has received various leadership and service excellence awards from the organization. Recently, he received the P&A Tax Partners’ Individual Excellence Award for FY 2023. Kim holds a Juris Doctor degree from the University of San Carlos College of Law in Cebu City and graduated Magna cum Laude with a bachelor's degree in accountancy from Holy Name University in Tagbilaran City.
