Just like how technology has rapidly evolved, so has the Firm and its people. When I started out in 1997, there were only three people in the group that would eventually be called TSG. Through the years, P&A Grant Thornton served both as a learning ground and a second home that would help shape my future. Now, in 2025: there are 68 of us and counting, all united towards the purpose of continuously innovating and serving our Firm.
Starting out in an era where the internet and other technologies weren’t as accessible and businesses were testing the waters on how to adapt these may seem like a challenge at first glance, but adapting to these rapid modern-day innovations took place in the normal course of time. In fact, being exposed to the early versions of what we enjoy nowadays was a big advantage. My experience led me to understand how things work starting from the basics, allowing me to acquire guiding principles that I can use in this modern day of technological advancement. The key is knowing the ABCs.
Technology is a big part of my life—and today, innovation is still taking place, and I will always have that thirst for something new. There is still a lot to know and learn. For me, being able to learn and apply new knowledge to my personal and professional life keeps me going.
As a supervisor and a network and security administrator for the Technology and Solutions Group, I am proud of how far our team has come, and how we continue to serve the Firm and its people with open arms. Natutuwa ako tuwing may mga team na lumalapit sa amin; kasi hindi naman sila lalapit sa’yo kung wala silang tiwala sa’yo.
Today, in this age of A.I. and other emerging technologies, I’d like to emphasize that people will remain at the center—humans will still be there to use and develop these tools, not be replaced by it. Most importantly, each one of us remains as the first line of defense against cyberthreats and other misuses of these innovations.
To my team, let’s continue serving our people wholeheartedly and develop timely solutions to the problems we face today.
